Cape Town native, Catherine Dillon has a Diploma in Wine from the Cape Wine Academy (CWA) and is also a qualified Cape Wine Master. Apart from English and Afrikaans, she is fluent in isiXhosa and her hobbies include golf, nature walks and cooking. Catherine is committed to ensuring that South African wine is understood, appreciated and enjoyed by locals and tourists alike. Her love of people, the bush and her country has ensured that her wine tours are insightful and immensely enjoyable. Catherine’s commitment to tourism excellence has led to her involvement in facilitating the Wine Service Course on behalf of the CWA. In addition, she lectures for the CWA from the introductory level through to the Diploma, including Front of House. In terms of safari experience Catherine has led several National Geographic Photographic Expeditions with Chris Johns, current editor of National Geographic, to the Southern African countries of Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. She also has experience of private and group safaris in both private game reserves and national parks within South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
Winelands Tour – Catherine’s passion for wine, will take guests on an extraordinary journey to hidden gems that are not usually visited by the public. Guests can meet the winemakers or viticulturalist (unless it is harvest time) and enjoy in a wine tasting session with the experts. Catherine Dillon can also tailor-make the experience according to guests’ interests and is able to assist in the purchase of older vintages of red wine and the freighting of wines.
