Day 1-2: Lake Kariba

On your arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport you will be met by a representative, who will help you board a light aircraft transfer flight to Lake Kariba.

Upon landing a boat transfer will be waiting to take you to Changa Safari Camp. Spend two nights at Changa Safari Camp, which boasts tastefully furnished, spacious deluxe tents. Each suite has its own private deck with magnificent views of the Matusadona Mountains and vast Lake Kariba. Boat transfer to Changa Safari Camp. Situated on the southern shores of Lake Kariba, Matusadona National Park is a place of remarkable beauty, where scenic landscapes range from flat plains to rugged mountains. One of several protected wildlife areas on the shores of the Lake, Matusadona is bounded on the west by the Ume River and on the east by the Sanyati River. Remote and isolated, the park receives fewer tourist numbers and provides an exclusive game viewing experience. It is particularly well known for its large herds of buffalo, some of which number over a thousand individuals, which congregate along the shoreline in the dry season. Other frequently encountered wildlife includes elephant and hippo, as well as waterbuck, sable and roan antelope. The reserve is also rich in birdlife, with many species of herons, storks, plovers, bee-eaters and geese, as well as the ubiquitous fish eagle, inhabiting the river banks. Your 2 night stay includes all meals, local drinks, house wines, up to three activities per day, teas/coffee and laundry. Adventures include game drives, walking and fishing safaris, bird watching and boating.

Day 3-5: Bumi Hills

After a mouth-watering breakfast you will hop aboard a boat which will take you to the Marina Land Harbour.

From here you will take a light aircraft flight to Bumi Hills. Relax for three nights at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge. Accommodation is in a premium room with a lovely ensuite bathroom and a private veranda that boasts wonderful views of the lake. Your stay includes all meals, up to two activities per day and teas/coffees. Stretching over 300 kilometres in length and covering an area of 5 000 square kilometres, the man-made Lake Kariba, filled between 1958 and 1963, is a veritable inland sea located on the mighty Zambezi River. Flanked on all sides by pristine nature reserves, this exceptional water mass is a testament to human ingenuity and not only contributes to the people of Zimbabwe and Zambia but also to a flourishing diversity of game, fish and birdlife. Many a memorable moment can be shared on the lake from fishing for the powerful tiger fish off a houseboat, as the sun displays its final colours before melting into the horizon, to game viewing by boat or on an interpretive guided walking safari. Not-to-be missed is the annual tiger fishing competition held in September. Relax for three nights at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge. Day 6-7: Hwange

You will be transferred by road to Bumi Airstrip for your light aircraft transfer to Hwange.

The elephant stronghold of Hwange, Zimbabwe’s largest national park is a game-rich area, roughly the size of the Bahamas and was once the royal hunting grounds of the Ndebele warrior king Mzilikazi. It was proclaimed a national park in 1929. Here guests can explore a variety of landscapes, from desert sands and sparse woodland to grasslands and rocky outcrops. Vast herds of elephant and buffalo, gemsbok and packs of brown hyena can be found in this pristine slice of wilderness, as can one of the largest surviving populations of wild dog. Spend two nights at The Hide Safari Camp. Day 8-9: Victoria Falls

Situated just 10 km (5 miles) from the thundering Victoria Falls, Zambezi National Park stretches along the banks of the Zambezi River, which forms its northern boundary, for over 40 km (25 miles). Apart from the famous Big Five, this scenic reserve is home to herds of elegant sable antelope, as well as eland, zebra, giraffe, kudu and waterbuck, while the river is inhabited by plenty of hippo and crocodile. The birdlife in the riverine thickets is plentiful, with egrets, herons, cormorants, fish eagles and kingfishers found among the lala palms on the river banks. The Zambezi is also a fisherman’s paradise, with its legendary fighting tiger fish, tilapia bream and giant vundu, or catfish. Spend two nights at Victoria Falls River Lodge. Boasting panoramic views of African sunsets, seven spacious luxury tents are set right on banks of the mighty Zambezi. Your stay includes meals, local beverages, high tea, optional daily transfer from camp (at 10h00 and 14h00 respectively) to Victoria Falls Town and two scheduled activities per day. Adventures include two game activities per person per day (a choice of either a morning / afternoon game drive in the Zambezi National Park, or a sunrise / sunset river cruise); snacks and drinks will be included on the game drive or river cruise. Additional activities include birdwatching on Kandahar Island as well as access to the Tree Hide.
