DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: The Emakoko

Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by a member of the team and assisted to your transfer to The Emakoko. Spend one night at The Emakoko in a cottage with ensuite bathroom. Your stay includes accommodation, dinner and breakfast, all airstrip transfers, game drives, soft drinks, beer, non-premium wine, non-premium spirits and internet access.

Day 2-5: Ol Donyo Lodge

Tuck into a mouth-watering breakfast, before being driven to Wilson Airport for your scheduled SafariLink flight to Chyulu Airstrip. On arrival, you will be met by a representative from ol Donyo Lodge and transferred to the lodge. Enjoy three nights at ol Donyo Lodge in a suite with ensuite bathroom. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, local brand beer and house wine, laundry and scheduled activities. The striking landscapes of the Chyulu Hills National park are tucked away between the renowned Tsavo West and Amboseli National park. The park includes a collection of ancient volcanic cinder cones and craters, with the most recent volcanic peak forming just 500 years ago. Visitors will delight in the breathtaking vistas of Mt Kilimanjaro and the wonderful game viewing opportunities. The birdwatchers paradise of Lake Jipe lies in the south -west corner of the park. The Chyulu Hills and the surrounding ecosystem lend itself perfectly to horseback safaris. the going is coarse, volcanic sand, which is ideal footing for fast or slow riding. A horse can navigate this diverse landscape so gracefully, moving in and out of the wildlife without disturbance and covering miles of open country. Ol Donyo’s team of 25 horses, ranging in size and performance to suit riders of all levels, can take guests out riding twice daily. Lodge guests are offered rides every morning and evening, with a break in the middle of the day. Those more zealous riders, wanting more hours in the saddle, can opt for 1 or 2 nights fly camping, where they ride further afield, keeping the horses with them throughout, taking a lightweight camp to sleep in at night.

Day 5-8: Mara Plains

After breakfast, you will be driven back to the airstrip in time for your scheduled SafariLink flight to the Masai Mara (via Wilson Airport).

On arrival, you will be met by a representative from Mara Plains and transferred to the lodge. Indulge in three nights at Mara Plains in a tent with ensuite bathroom with shower only. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, beer, house wine, laundry, shared scheduled activities including night drives and Ol Kiombo airstrip transfers. The Masai Mara is Kenya’s most renowned game park and forms the northern extension of the Serengeti. Its legendary Great Migration, of over two million wildebeest and other antelope, has been described as one of nature’s greatest wildlife spectacles — and an experience every safari enthusiast should witness at least once in their lifetime. Game viewing in this celebrated park is wonderful all round the year, with virtually guaranteed sightings of the Big Five. The park takes its name from the Mara River, which flows through the reserve, and the Maasai people, a tribe whose red dress and proud demeanour have ensured they are probably Kenya’s best-known (and most-photographed) people

Day 9: Departure

Depart to the airstrip for your scheduled SafariLink flight to Wilson Airport. On arrival, you will be met by a team member and transferred by road to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
